I'm willing to discuss user-visible interface changes with Steve.
Before the 20.3 release, I showed him a list of new features, so he
could propose changes before users started using them. A few weeks
ago I asked Gerd to contact Steve to raise the issue of designing a
common interface for including images in the text.
P.S. I presume these legal opinions you got applied to the US? Do know
of any one having sought legal advice over both the strength of the
GPL and legal papers necessity in Europe?
I don't know. It may vary from country to country, although
the EU software copyright directive ought to make the GPL
work in all EU countries.
