I haven't seen a patch for this on xemacs-patches(a)xemacs.org.
Please always send a patch with ChangeLog to xemacs-patches(a)xemacs.org
before you commit a change.
You may use
M-x customize-group RET patcher RET
M-x patcher-mail
to create patches and ChangeLogs very easily.
You need to have the xemacs-devel package installed, of which patcher
is a part of.

Only Vin applies patches for 21.1.
Only Stephen applies patches for 21.4.
Only Steve applies (or asks you to apply) patches for packages.
