No. The only way to GUARANTEE this behavior is for EVERY keysym to
default to deleting backwards.
If the backspace key can be made to generate the `Delete' keysym, it
can just as readily be configured to generate `a', `b', etc. Of
course, doing this would be stupid, but no less stupid (IMO) as making
it generate `Delete', and then expecting XEmacs to counteract this.
