I've noticed and reported this bug before, but now that I've been
forced to work on a terminal for two hours, I'm ready to consider it a
show-stopper. :-)
Description: when a frame is split (contains more than one window),
the redisplays happen way too often, e.g. whenever the minibuffer is
used.
To repeat, split XEmacs with `C-x 2' then press `M-: t RET'. You
should see the screen redrawn. This is especially visible and
annoying on TTY's.
This bug did not exist in XEmacs 20.4, and was introduced some time
into 21.0 cycle, perhaps having to do with Kirill's
scrollbar/toolbar-width fixes. It would be nice if people who
understand redisplay could look into it.
