cc-mode is probably not broken, in my estimate (other XEmacs
developers may disagree). There have been a number of problems with
support for parsing text (syntax tables and regexps), and those are
probably what you're seeing. There are also problems with dramatic
slowdowns in some contexts (mostly large files). This may be related,
or may be a separate issue.
You should send to both groups, we both need to know about it and we
have complementary areas of expertise. For XEmacs, please report
here, as this is where the maximum number of developers will see it.
If the cc-mode people are unresponsive, we can apply patches to
cc-mode here to our version, although for obvious reasons we prefer to
keep them in synch.
