Doesn't help. The point is protecting the repository. If my
$srcdir/etc/package-index.LATEST.gpg gets over-written from
Pre-releases, say, and I don't realize it and do a "cvs commit etc",
the repository is now corrupt.
Note that the user probably doesn't notice a thing. PUI always asks
if I want to update, I always say yes, it always writes the new file,
list-packages works fine. There is nothing there to show anything is
amiss unless I'm looking carefully at the commit process.
