Sorry about that. I did try it out with 21.4 way back when and it
wouldn't load. I'll try again, once I get a 21.4 build, and report back
on the issues I find.
Finally got around to building and installing 21.4.22. Whatever problem
it was that I thought I had was just some strange dream. :-)
After a few minutes of testing, eldoc works as expected.
So there are no obvious show-stopper issues with eldoc.
I'll try to go do the tracker stuff you mentioned.
