This is sometimes false. Mule XEmacs (I never use no-Mule) has put
Mule packages in /usr/local/lib/xemacs/{,xemacs-packages/} once in a
while. I haven't been able to track down if this is a general bug or
something to do with local conditions (eg, building packages from
source). However, oddities in package installation location have been
reported by others. So be careful, Peter.
thank for the warning stephen
i am going to install the ben-mule branch into its own $PREFIX
i have setup a mule-packages directory there and only ben-mule will
see it, i have symlinked the xemacs-packages to my std install
location so i will have access to them
i will be careful when installing mule-packages, i will probably wget
them and extract them into the mule-packages directory
once i get ben-mule o actually compile here i will see how it goes
