The operation was a success, but "He's _still_ dead, Jim." Identical symptoms: start xemacs -vanilla so as to generate a warning (I use a bad locale), select the *Warnings* buffer from the Buffers menu, select *Warnings-Show* using the tab, and get a frame with *Warnings* above, *Warnings-Show* (current) below, and a single tab *scratch* which does nothing.
