Packaging bug in your distro. When you upgraded to X11R7, they
deleted all your devel stuff, and the dependencies for the upgrade
virtual packages don't include everything the monolithic distro did.
Bitmaps seem to be an especially common omission.
OK, fixed. Installed xorg-x11-xbitmaps
Now, built OK, but can't seem to find lisp packages.
WARNING:
Couldn't find an obvious default for the root of the
XEmacs hierarchy.
I built using:
--datadir=/usr/share
and my generic xemacs hierarchy is:
/usr/share/xemacs:
total 44
drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 Apr 4 13:55 .
drwxr-xr-x 319 root root 12288 May 16 11:02 ..
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 May 10 02:20 mule-packages
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Apr 4 13:54 site-lisp
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Apr 4 13:55 site-packages
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 May 10 02:18 xemacs-packages
But:
`load-path' is a simple built-in variable.
-- loaded from "/usr/local/src/xemacs-21.5.27/src/lread.c"
Value: ("/usr/share/xemacs-21.5-b27/lisp/")
Sorry for simple question, anyone know what I need to do?
