Debian `sid', right? File a bug report with Debian. They supply the
1.6 library with the 1.5 headers. May you have better luck than I
did.
From current nas.c:
* 2002-10-16 Jon Trulson modifed this to work with NAS releases
* 1.5f and higher. We were using the private variable
* SoundFileInfo that doesn't exist anymore. But preserve

you need --with-sound=none,.... See configure.usage. For some reason
people who write less than omniscient autodetect---but that's
redundant, no?---code always seem to think it's the user's fault, and
they force you disable it explicitly. XEmacs is unfortunately not an
exception to that rule. One of these days....
