I haven't studied the XEmacs implementation, so I'll let Hrvoje speak for it. But apropos, while you are looking at the code... I added a `:always-active' flag which makes it possible to browse documentation widgets, even when they are part of a deactivated container widget. This helps the Gnus group parameter customization feature a lot.
