The crucial difference beeing that 1) this one is hosted at
w3.org and
2) it's open source (which, IIRC, the WebTechs service wasn't). If
someone manages to hijack
w3.org we might as well just pack up and go
home! The validator is under the W3C Licence, but as far as I can tell
that is essentially the same as the Perl Artistic License. IOW, you
could just set up a copy on
xemacs.org and refer to that in static HTML
instead of kluding around it with genpage/psgml.
Anyway, it was just a suggestion. It's on the TODO in any case and fits
nicely with some other stuff I'm planning on doing. I was only thinking
of speeding that particular feature up if it'd solve the immediate
problem on
xemacs.org.
I really love the idea of doing it all inside XEmacs.
Actually, I kinda dislike the idea of doing _everything_ in XEmacs. I
just want an editor dammit! Well, and version control... and debugger
support... and compiler integration... and... oh to hell with it!
