Many of these problems will go away when I release an installer with the
correct file associations.

I am able to give some more specific information.
1. The problem does not exist when I use XEmacs the regular way.
2. I have VisEmacs.dll ( to open files from MSDEV ) using gnuclient.exe and
gnuclientw.exe
3. The gnuserv.el which comes with XEmacs for some reason does not work with
gnuclientw.exe
gnuclient version: gnuclient 1.7 (27 Feb 1997) I did not get a later
build
on NT (I could not make it build either from source on NT).
4. I replaced with the latest I got from the net and this works with the
gnuclient.
5. When I open a file thru gnuclientw.exe, I can never open a folder (with \\
sep) as mentioned below.
I know this may not be the right test scenerio. I was an observation or
problem
I faced. Does anyone have a later build of gnuclient (or equivalent ) ?
