yes, but only using -nw.
And also compiling in -n32 mode (which gives a subtly different
section usage pattern).
so far I have only used -o32, as -n32 complained about my X11R6.4 libs
being in -o32 format or something like that. Maybe I should link
against the SGI X libs.
<sigh> the number of tests I need to perform seems to be exponential
in the number of messages in this thread...
