Why are you iusing version 21.1.12? How did you run configure?
I would be amazed to seee the dumper (possibly the most
architecture-sensitive parts of XEmacs) just work "out-of-the-box" on
an exotic platform. I suggest that you try xemacs 21.4 or xemacs.21.5
with the new portable dumper (./configure --pdump)
are you aware of fink, a dpkg-derived package mgmt system
for those of us using darwin (MacOSX)? the reason i'm
installing 21.1.12.3 is because that's the version
in their database:

if either the fink fellows, or you, might have ideas
about how to inject these newer versions, esp. the portable
dumper you mention, i'd be happy to try this.
