With the likelihood that if I were to pack the sumo packages with
Solaris tar (for want of a better name) all the GNU tar users would
start seeing strange things and start complaining.
Nope, it works for me. If you don't have access to a Solaris or other
non-GNU-tar machine, let me know and I'll run some tests for you.

Somewhere around a 100 characters or more, including directory name.
