i believe the perl regular expression engine supports [:alpha:]
constructs, maybe we could have a look at how they do it to get ideas
on how XEmacs can support those nifty constructs
i am assuming the XEmacs re bits are written in c (as opposed to elisp)
i think implementing POSIX bracket-expression's in XEmacs will enhance
its multi-language capabilities
i will have a squiz at the perl re code and see if we can port the
bracket-expression bits to XEmacs
i will probably need some help with the actual coding as my c skill's
are crap
the other idea i had was wether pcre could be used in XEmacs
(pcre is a library that does perl compatible regular expressions for
those who dont know)
that would increase the power of re's in XEmacs by some large number
pcre is GPL so there wont be any licencing concerns
feel free to ignore my suggestion's as you see fit
