I see this too, but with p-g-p-p reporting 1.40 and actually
having 1.44. It appears that package-get-package-provider is
searching the contents of package-get-base, which is apparently
stale. This variable appears to come from
$XEMACS/etc/package-index.LATEST.pgp, which is stale because I
haven't done a make install for a while.
I am trying to use CVS to keep current in packages in lieu of
regular SUMO updates. Perhaps this is a bad practice?
