I was experimenting with fonts on my recently built 21.0.63 version
of XEmacs and hit something very odd.
The default background color on my display was off-white
(#fafaf8f8f3f3). That setting does produce the desired background
color on my screen when XEmacs starts (something that was not the case
at one time), but it switches to grey75 (or something close) as soon
as I change the selected font using the Options->Font menu.
This only changes the background of the text windows and the
mini-buffer, but leaves the xpms in the tool bar and the status line
with the off-white.
While this is not a serious problem, it is annoying and I can't
believe it is desired behavior.
I recall a long discussion of some problems relating to the default
background color. Has this been fixed in 21.2? (Guess I may have to
break down and build 21.2, although I'm not sure where I'll find the
disk space.)
