here is a patch to reinstate -bg behaviour.
Oh please ! Can't we really agree on something once for all and stop
patching this kinda stuff back and forth from realease to release !? How can I
make people understand that using -bg and -fg for the widgets as well as for
the text is wrong WRONG *WRONG* _WRONG_ _*WRONG*_ !!
As soon as you use a 3d layout, widgets *must* have a different
appearance by default. How many times did I say so ?! :-(
