If it does, then failing to duplicate would lead to an equally subtle
incompatibility with GNU Emacs.
Stefan, do you plan to unify the two interfaces?  Or are they already
unified deep in comment-region-internal?  Or is the "uncomment"
meaning already gone in recent GNU Emacs?
