Here's easy: M-x edit-toolbar RET Glyph hint: (locate-data-directory "frame-icon") Check out the dates on that library. Then consider how rough the UI is (it's servicable, but if people were using it it would have gotten smoothed out long ago). That should help you understand why I'm pessimistic about the market for GUI stuff in Emacsen. The problem is not putting buttons in the bar.
