Oh, OK, yes, I submitted something like that, although my fix was to
change `reset-face'. I thought it was dead because Kyle disliked it,
and my only defense was "This is a one-liner, and doing it right
involves replacing all the internal organs of Custom." The patch is
also consistent with the current docstring for `reset-face'.
Kyle usually doesn't think that's a good enough excuse. :-) Also,
it's probably not true that Custom needs to undergo massive surgery,
as the test for being the default face can be done in `face-spec-set',
custom doesn't use `reset-face' anywhere else that I could find. So I
don't know what the right fix is.
I am still looking at porting Custom to specifiers under XEmacs,
but obviously that is going to cause a serious fork with the FSF
support.
