I have NO problems to view those png files.
Is every single png file in etc/photos giving you the error?
No. Only the ones with more than a few colors. I tested by running a
second XEmacs and I also have a netscape running. I don't see much
difference than 21.0 and 21.2.
8 bit color sucks.
