Well that's the wrong directory anyway. It should be
site-packages/lisp/preview/. [1] Keep the same directory structure as
the normal packages.

Select a package download site from Tools -> Packages -> Add Download
Site and then do: 'M-x package-get-update-all'.
You'll get an error saying it couldn't find version nil of package
preview-latex. Now that's actually OK _providing_ PUI tries to update
preview-latex last. If it does it first or somewhere in the middle,
you're screwed because PUI bails out.

Probably not. :-( I'll do my best to get something working as soon as
I can, but at this stage I'm not prepared to give an ETA. Once I get
things a bit better sorted out in my mind I'll post to -design a draft
proposal of what I'd like to do. In that I'll state how long I expect
it all to take.
Footnotes:
[1] Yes I know that structure is kind of brain-dead and it should be
packagename/lisp rather than lisp/packagename. But that's what
we use now so it would be best to stick with it until someone
changes it. Can you tell that I'm warming to the idea of a
different layout :-)
