Visual bell too loud

One of the major, major improvements in Emacs 20 is that the visual bell doesn't flash so much of the screen. I have a tendency to `C-g' a lot, and I'm afraid I'm going to go into an epileptic seizure if I use XEmacs much more... (I, like, sit programming mostly in almost complete darkness, using a black background on the monitor. So the white flashing is really *bright*.) Could we have a less visual visual bell in XEmacs?
