Erm, has this changed in one of the last commits? I've done it
this way
since like forever ...
For what it is worth: I can't reproduce this using 21.5 and a not
completely fresh clone (but make-cleaned before make bindist anyway.)
(Not much help I'm afraid.)
I could add make bindist to the package smoketest if we feel that this
needs to be tested on a regular basis!?
