I appear to be patch challenged for the time being. The computer with
a working CVS and the computer where I can reproduce the bug are
incommunicado, and I made a cut-and-paste error attempting to prepare
the patch. The version I posted probably won't even compile.

message. If someone with a non-bogus development environment would use
to prepare a correct patch I would be grateful.
