cd build-directory rm lib-src/DOC cd src make ../lib-src/DOC gives Loading /Users/steve/Software/XEmacs/alioth/sandbox/src/../lisp/make-docfile.el... Loading find-paths.el... Loading packages.el... Loading setup-paths.el... Loading raw-process.el... Requiring custom... Requiring widget... Loading process... Loading /Users/steve/Software/XEmacs/alioth/sandbox/lisp/dumped-lisp.el... and stops there, before getting to "Spawning make-docfile ..." Then the dump phase blows chunks because it can't find ../lib-src/DOC. Reverting the patch allows me to complete the build.
