gnus' mm-decode.el uses timer-list which is a GNU Emacs thing - it's aliased
to itimer-list in fsf-compat's timer.el. I suppose the attached patch would
be acceptable instead of making gnus depend on fsf-compat.
This is hopefully part of the fix for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/435107
Mike, let me know if you'd like me to commit this.

In the bugzilla notes you mentioned submitting the patch upstream.
Who's the upstream provider in this case--gnus.org or xemacs.org?
I see that timer-list is only used once in gnus, so the patch looks okay
to me. But I'd like to minimize the number of patches that the XEmacs
package has relative to gnus.org releases.

the ones in the Gnus CVS? I don't know when, but the next stable

Yes. I can either resync now (well, in a week or two, when I find
time), or I can wait until the next stable version is released.
So Ville, if you want to commit your patch to the XEmacs Gnus package
now, that's okay with me.
By the way, the previous maintainer of the XEmacs Gnus package (Steve
Youngs) mentioned to me that he would tag the Gnus CVS repository to
indicate XEmacs packages. For example, gnus-agent.el has a
xemacs-pkg-1_90 tag. Is that a practice you (the Gnus maintainers)
would like me to continue?
