cperl-mode.el is in need of an upstream sync; I'd suggest marking the
changes made to the XEmacs version more clearly [0] to make the sync a
bit less painful (== no need to hunt & guess based on the changelogs /
commit messages) when it's time to do it.
[0] For example ";; XEmacs change: <something>". BTW, this would be a
good practice for the majority of stuff in packages, not only
cperl-mode.el.
