Clean tree? Try "make beta". If that doesn't help, this may be more
of Aidan's Common Lisp work showing up in corner cases.
Note that the smoke test builds all fine.

This is more for Mike and any other oldtime core hackers who may be
listening: WTF? We don't have pure space anymore, and I thought all
the "pureload" stuff went away ages ago.
