I'm glad to see that a lot of the regulars are attending, but what's
more important than that is that we have people to teach. Much of this
(excepting, of course, the pizza), is simply not going to be very
interesting to you Linux zealots.
Bring family and friends.
I'll have a powerpoint ready with the very basics of F/OSS and Linux,
ie what Libre is, why you ought to care, and how you can use it.
That'll be followed by the start of an Ubuntu installation (I have a
hard drive, and I talked with Elkner a while back about using one of
his computers). Then, the pizza, and then we have a clean install to
play with. We can show everyone how easy it is to do stuff on Linux
(we can do that on another machine of the install's not done), and
then, how to install programs and maybe do a little customisation.
Then, the fun part: I'm borrowing a copy of World of Warcraft from a
friend, and we'll get that running under Wine.
If you have anything to add, either now or at the meeting, it's a
flexible schedule, so you'll have time to show off your trick or
favorite app.
