[Bug: 21.5-b29] list-matching lines

Try running "xemacs -vanilla" and then using M-x list-matching-lines,
and then running "xemacs -no-packages" followed by using M-x
list-matching-lines.

I strongly suspect something in the hundreds of library shadows
reported in your post, or perhaps an advice somewhere.
