It's possible that the ChangeLog has not been committed, although the
code changes are in.  I have had some problems with the package release
process.

Auctex has been built from a branch for some months now.  I've forgotten
the reason for this, maybe Uwe can comment on this, so trunk and the
sumo contents may differ.
