auctex preview.dvi build failure

Ok.  I've applied tested this change locally to preview/latex/preview.dtx, 
preview/preview.el, and style/prosper.el and it fixes the build for me.  I 
have no idea why it didn't fail in Norbert's official package sumo build 
though.

Uwe, would you like me to take care of making these changes in XEmacs CVS?
