Running latest vc?

I've been running the latest vc from the packages CVS repo on my computer at
home to use the svn support. I tried copying the vc package to a directory
on my computer at work today and added that directory to load-path. Things
aren't working so well. When I visit files under CVS or Subversion control
I get errors like this:

Sorry, registered-lite is not implemented for CVS
Sorry, registered-lite is not implemented for RCS

After adjusting XEMACS_INSTALLED_PACKAGES_ROOT I ran "make install" from the
vc directory. It seemed to install ok into ~/emacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/vc
so I added that directory to load-path and tried again. Same result.

Do I need to do something to coax XEmacs into processing the vc
auto-autoloads.el file somehow?

Thx,

like maybe in a laptop or a cell phone or a $200 million military satellite
maybe? And yet, where do you see them?
SPENCER MICHELS: You don't.
ELON MUSK: Exactly.
