update packages

Hi,
I'm trying to get newest packages, and got some problem.
For example AFAIK latest auctex is 11.55 but when I updated via
tools->packages->list and install
from Pre-relases site I didn't get newest (11.46 instead of 11.55)
I have checked on 
ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/beta/experimental/packages 
and indeed there are 11.46...

So my question is where can I get newest one,
and why on above site there aren't newest?
