Well, it seems to have to do with it.
Wether I require 'un-define or not doesn't change anything but doing
a (latin-unity-install) brings up the error. However I can do an
(require 'latin-unity-latin9)
(require 'latin-euro-input)
and byte-compiling still works.

The difference between an elc that works and one that doesn't is 
minuscule, just six bytes:

works:
