Funny ...  My reason for making M-num be "paste" was exactly the same :)
M-2 and M-3 are easier for me.  Maybe this is a combination of my fucked-up
hands (pinky + anything is horrible) and the position of Ctrl in the
bottom-left corner; M-* is easy w/the thumb. [I want to see *all* shift keys
thumbable.]
