Q: How welcome are compiler warning fix patches?

Hi folks!
As the subject says: I'm wondering whether patches that `just' fix
compiler warnings are welcome or whether they are unwelcome
disturbances of the peace from nit-pickers.
More specifically I have a few "declaration of `exp' shadows a global
declaration"-type fixes for r21-5-latest-beta that I may or may not
submit.
