Probably not unless you're willing to pay someone, for an XEmacs that
ancient.  "Bryce Canyon" was released in, like, 1999, and the whole 21.1
series has been officially retired for many months.  There's nothing
_wrong_ with XEmacs 21.1.14 (the most recent in that series), but
AFAIK almost nobody is using it any more.

Try upgrading to 21.4.15, or if you really need to use 21.1 for some
reason, 21.1.14.  This kind of thing is certainly related to a bug in
the C code, and you'll need to upgrade to fix it in any case.
