Help me out here, Jerry, what does that mean?  I know that by "fall"

A patch, cool!  How about the URL to the patch submission on
xemacs-patches?  Or the bug report?

From the Gnus side of things, until I can pinpoint what you are
talking about the answer is a definite I wouldn't have the foggiest.
What I will say is that it has been a _very_ long time since I have
seen a Gnus induced crash.
