That is very hard to say, since we don't know what you did in v5 ;-)

I will tell you that I once took a CentOS 4 box running apache mod_proxy 
(mostly) and some other scripts for work (scp/misc access from internal 
to external type activities) and threw a CentOS 5 cd in it. Let it 
"update" the box, and rebooted. Other then some minor option changes to 
httpd.conf that I had to fix, the box ran and ran in exactly the config 
I had in v4, only now with the options I needed in apache. Surprised me, 
I was expecting to have to reload the box from scratch and put my 
configs back onto it.

I have not tried the same thing from 5 to 6 though.
