Much of OSX is based off of the BSD's, FreeBSD and NetBSD in particular.
Without Free and Open Source software, there would be no Apple OSX.  Or
Microsoft Windows for that matter.

It looks like we're veering pretty far off-topic.  But then the "topic" 
was more of a rant anyway.
