Microsoft has held a great number of IP over the years.
My personal favorite are the countless 3D and OpenGL patents.

How is this any different?  Most of those are actually worse than is.
Or more importantly, how does holding UNIX(R) affect Linux?

If there is one thing I will regularly agree with Stallman on, it is this.
Regardless of how you market it, it _is_ very much GNU/Linux, technically.

There's a reason why it's called such.
And that had far more to do with AT&T than Microsoft.  ;)

So, again, how does Microsoft now holding what was AT&T's affect GNU/Linux?  ;)
