Have you narrowed your choices down to these two? If so, read no further.

If not, or if you're someone else on the list doing your taxes,
consider online services. I've used TaxACT Online
(http://www.taxactonline.com/) for many years and I've been pleased.
Cheap, even for a complex return (this year the Federal return is
free, including e-filing, but you can generally complete both Federal
and state for under $20).

Those who object to some remote site holding their tax records (and
who, presumably, don't use credit cards or do business over the net)
will find the idea horrifying but it's worked well for me for many
years.

I gave up on that long ago. The biggies don't care about anything but
Windows and the ones that do care face lots of resistance from the
IRS. But perhaps this is changing:
