[Novalug] VMs and Security

I'm dependent upon Window$ to sync and backup my "smart phone." As I
understand it, the "appliance," including folders and files, is written to
a .vdi file. Does this provide a sort-of security through obscurity? (I'm
*not* asking about the obvious - accessing the data when the VM is
running.) I've tried different ways of peeking into the .vdi file and have
failed.

I'm thinking that's enough to provide some protection to the personal data
from my phone and that putting it in an encrypted folder in the VM would
be over kill.
