There's a lot of prior art of why you don't want to embark on this path.
You're just inviting trouble. If you insist on testing your security
you should get express written permission first, and be completely
transparent while doing it.
It's trivial to use the tool you mentioned to defeat WEP. What all the
WEP-attackers go bananas about is packet injection, which when
supported means you can have your wireless card slap around the access point to tease out
initialization vectors. To support injection you need a patched
wireless driver, and Aircrack-ng typically includes those patches and
lots of docs on how to do it. The Madwifi drivers and the cards they
support (Atheros) are hand-in-glove for kicking around WEP. Most
distros are using ath5k instead of Madwifi, so far as I know.
Anyway, don't do it to your employer. It doesn't matter if you're
right.
